The Bergamot – “Beauty That We See” ft. Notre Dame Children’s Choir
-This song has several genres all blended together, but all told feels like an easy going rock track. I appreciate the folksy songwriting sensibility that is packaged in more of a rock instrumentation. The Children’s Choir adds a whole different dimension, adding a feeling of calm and relaxation. There’s a lyrical theme about seeking beauty as you grow into the world. Maybe it’s because I am a parent or maybe because I’ve finally reached an age that I can call beauty when I see it, but I definitely feel a personal connection with this lyrical message. It’s so positive and has great vibes. It’s perfect for a playlist and I hope you’ll consider it for yours.

    Ryan Mitchell – “CALENDAR GIRL”
-There’s a chill pop rock energy to this song’s opening that grows into more of a power ballad. Nevertheless, I consider it an enjoyable easier rock style that invites the listener into the story. The vocal carries a considerable amount of passion. I love the chord choices on the chorus and the way the production layers a sense of harmony. The lyrics feel like a desperate sense of desire. The combination of the striving in the vocal with the desperation of the lyrics make it feel like a genuine expression of desire.

    S.Karma – “When you can’t sleep”
-Over the years I’ve had friends who really struggled with insomnia and have had some acute bouts with it myself, so this track definitely resonates. I appreciate the understated nature of the vocal that sits nicely in the pocket of the instrumentation. The rhythm keeps the song moving while the vocal blending creates an almost chorale energy to the recording. It all comes together for an easy going rock experience that captures both energy and relaxation in equal measure. The electric guitar break on the bridge reminds me of late 90s pop in the best way possible. This is a comfortable track and I hope it helps some people find blissful rest.
